Getting into SA Soccer: My Little Dive
Alright, so the other day, I thought, “You know what? I should probably learn a bit about South African soccer teams.” Been meaning to, just never got around to it. Figured it’d be straightforward, you know?
So, I did the usual. Fired up my laptop, typed in “SA soccer teams” and off I went. First thing I noticed? Wow, there’s a fair few of them! More than just a handful, that’s for sure. It wasn’t like looking up your local Sunday league, no sir.
I tried to narrow it down. “Okay,” I thought, “let’s find the big dogs, the main league.” That seemed like a sensible place to start. And yeah, you quickly bump into names everyone seems to know, like:

So, after a bit of that, I decided to dial it back. For now, I’m mainly trying to keep up with the DStv Premiership. It’s just easier to follow, the information is more readily available, and you can actually find recent scores and news without feeling like an archaeologist.
My main takeaways from this little exploration were basically:
