Now, they say most caddies, they get 10% of what the golfer wins. But Steve, he says Nicki gets more than that. A lot more. Like I said, she gets whatever she wants. He must really love her, that Steve.
But I heard that if the golfer, you know, if he does okay, not great, but okay, the caddy gets 7% if it’s top 10. And 5% for just, you know, doin’ alright. So Nicki, she’s probably makin’ a good chunk of change. Good for her, I say. She’s earnin’ it, carryin’ that heavy bag around. It ain’t easy work, bein’ a caddy.
Other Caddies and Their Families
I heard about this other golfer, Webb somethin’. His wife carried his bag for him at some tournament. They called it the Wyndham Championship. Sounds fancy, don’t it? I guess some golfers like to have their family with ’em. It’s like a little family outing, but with golf.
It’s a nice way to bond, I reckon. Spend time together, do somethin’ you both like. Not everyone can do that. Most folks, they gotta go to work, and their spouse stays home, or they go to a different job. But these golfers, they get to do it all together.
Steve Stricker and Nicki, they seem to have a good thing goin’. He’s a good golfer, she’s a good caddy. They make a good team. And they get to see the world together, playin’ golf. Not a bad life, I’d say. Not bad at all. It must be nice to have a life like that. Maybe I should have taken up golf.
