So, I’ve been playing Palworld for a while now, and I kept running into this problem where I needed charcoal. At first, I thought, “Charcoal? How hard can it be to find?” Boy, was I wrong. I spent hours wandering around, thinking it might just pop up like wood or stone, but nope, nothing.

Then, it hit me – I’m probably just looking in the wrong places. I decided to actually do a bit of digging online, and that’s when I found out about this place called the Twilight Dunes. It’s a desert area right near the middle of the map. Sounds easy, right? Well, getting there was a bit of a trek, but I finally made it. And let me tell you, this place is a goldmine for charcoal or, well, the stuff you need to make charcoal.
Once I got to the Twilight Dunes, I started looking for these large black rocks. The tip I read online said they’re darker than the usual stone nodes and more, how did they put it… “monochromatic” than the ore nodes. Honestly, it took me a minute to figure out what that meant, but basically, they just look different – darker and more uniformly colored. Once you see one, you’ll know.
But here’s the real trick I learned: you don’t actually find charcoal lying around. You gotta make it yourself. I know, I know, it sounds like a hassle, but it’s actually pretty simple. All you need is a Furnace. If you’ve been playing for any amount of time, you probably already have one set up. Then, you just need two pieces of wood. Yep, that’s it, just wood.
Now, here’s where your Pals come in handy. You need a Pal with the “Kindling” perk. They’re the ones who can work the Furnace. I used a fire-type Pal I caught earlier, and it worked like a charm. Just put the wood in the Furnace, assign your Kindling Pal to it, and boom, you’ve got yourself some charcoal.
Step-by-step
- Find a Furnace: You gotta build one of these bad boys.
- Get Some Wood: Chop down some trees, get two pieces of wood. You probably have tons of this stuff already.
- Use a Pal with Kindling: Get your fire-type Pal to work that Furnace.
- Wait a Bit: It doesn’t take long, and you’ll have your charcoal.
So there you have it. That’s how I finally cracked the code to getting charcoal in Palworld. It’s a bit of a process, but once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty straightforward. Hope this helps some of you who were as lost as I was!
