Alright, so I was watching this US Open thing back in 2015, and man, what a wild ride that was. It all went down at this place called Chambers Bay, out in Washington state. I remember it was a big deal because it was the 115th time they were doing this whole US Open thing.

So, I settled in for the weekend to watch it all unfold. This Jordan Spieth guy, who was only 21 at the time, was looking to do something crazy – win the whole Grand Slam in one season. Talk about ambitious, right? I watched him play all weekend, and he was pretty darn good. He shot a 69 on Sunday, which was just enough to beat out Dustin Johnson and Louis Oosthuizen by one stroke.
I remember everyone was going nuts about Chambers Bay that year. Turns out, not in a good way. Apparently, the greens were all brown and bumpy, and a bunch of the golf folks were super annoyed. They were saying it wasn’t what a US Open course should be like. Some serious drama in the golf world, let me tell you.
- First off, it was a big deal because Fox Sports got the rights to show the US Open, kicking off some 12-year contract with the golf association.
- This Spieth guy, he won his first US Open and his second big title in a row. People were losing it.
- Spieth ended up with a score of five-under par. I think that was pretty good, considering how everyone was complaining about the course.
- They already had the next like 20 years of US Open locations picked out. Same with the US Women’s Open. Talk about planning ahead!
What I Remember Most
Yeah, that 2015 US Open at Chambers Bay was definitely one for the books. Between Spieth’s big win and all the fuss about the course, it was a weekend I won’t forget anytime soon. It was a bit of a mess, but hey, it made for some good entertainment. I enjoyed it very much.
