Were All Going to the Worlds Fair Ending: What Did It All Mean,Simple explain?

Okay, so I finally got around to watching “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair,” and wow, that ending, right? I had to sit down and process the whole thing, and I figured I’d share my experience here, in case anyone else is still scratching their heads.

Were All Going to the Worlds Fair Ending: What Did It All Mean,Simple explain?

The Initial Setup

First off, I found the movie on a streaming service. I’d heard some buzz about it, mostly that it was a creepy, unsettling take on internet culture, so I was curious. I dimmed the lights, got some snacks, and hit play, fully expecting some jump scares or something.

Diving into the “World’s Fair”

The movie started, and it was pretty much what I’d imagined, at least at first. This girl, Casey, she’s all alone in her attic room, and she decides to take this online challenge, the “World’s Fair Challenge.” It’s all very ritualistic – she pricks her finger, smears blood on the screen, says this weird phrase, and watches a strobing video. Super creepy stuff. I was hooked, I have to admit, totally wondering where this was going.

The Slow Burn

Then, the movie really changed gears. It wasn’t about jump scares at all. It was more about watching Casey document her supposed “changes” after taking the challenge. She’s making these videos, posting them online, and it’s all very… ambiguous. Is she really changing? Is it all in her head? Is it a performance? I was constantly second-guessing everything, which I think was the point.

The JLB Factor

This older guy, JLB, he reaches out to Casey. He’s seen her videos, and he’s worried about her. He seems genuinely concerned, but there’s also something… off about him. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. Their interactions were the most interesting part of the film, for me. It’s all done through Skype calls and video messages, and it felt so real, like I was eavesdropping on something I shouldn’t be.

The “Ending”

The movie build and build, Casey getting seemingly more disturbed and JLB’s concerns increase. Then the end… it arrived.

So, Casey finally meets JLB in person, and it’s not what I expected at all. The climax of the movie, when Casey finally meets JLB, it felt… anticlimactic, maybe? But also, really, really sad. It’s a complete shift in tone. She’s just this lonely kid, and he’s… well, he’s just a guy. And he seems so let down by her. The entire “reality” of the movie is thrown into question. I got the feeling that the story had ended long ago.

  • Is Casey’s initial ‘World’s Fair’ experience fake or only in her head?
  • The ending is just… normal. Which, in a way, makes it even more unsettling.

My Takeaway

After I finished watching, I just sat there for a while, thinking. I wasn’t sure what to make of it. It wasn’t the horror movie I’d expected, but it was definitely disturbing. It was more about the loneliness and isolation of internet culture, and how easy it is to get lost in these online worlds. I think the ending, with its ambiguity, is what really stuck with me. It leaves you wondering what was real, what was performance, and what it all means. I even went online and looked up some theories about the ending, just to see what other people thought. I think that the next day, I will watch it again.

I still found myself thinking about it days later. It’s not a movie for everyone, but if you’re into these kind of slow-burn, psychological, internet-age stories, you might want to check it out. Just be prepared for that ending. I’d be interested to hear what other people have to say about this movie after they watch it.
