Alright, so today I wanna talk about something I’ve been digging into lately—the WeatherTech racing schedule. Yeah, I know, it sounds kinda niche, but trust me, it’s been a wild ride.
So, first things first, I started by just trying to figure out what the heck WeatherTech Racing even is. Turns out, it’s a big deal in the sports car racing world. They’ve got these races called the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. I found out that you can watch all these races live on USA or NBC. How cool is that?
Then, I got into the types of cars they race. There are two main types: Prototype and GT. And these are split into four classes, like Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) and Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2). It’s all pretty intense, with different cars zooming around the track.
Next up, I had to find the actual schedule. I stumbled upon their website, and guess what? They had a whole section for upcoming races. I saw that the first big one for this year was the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway. It was in January, from the 26th to the 29th. Man, I wish I had known about this earlier!
Here’s a bit of what I managed to piece together:

I also found out they have these sponsored drivers, like Jules Gounon, who drives the No. 79 WeatherTech Mercedes AMG-GT3 Evo. These guys are pros, and it’s crazy to see them in action.
Then, I looked up some more races. There was one at Virginia International Raceway. The schedule for that weekend was packed. And get this, they even announced the 2024 season schedule at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. It’s like they never stop!
I even saw a post on their social media saying “The final race of the season is here.” It’s all so exciting, and I can’t believe I’m just getting into this now.
So yeah, that’s my journey into the world of WeatherTech Racing. It’s been a lot of searching and reading, but it’s totally worth it. I’m already planning to catch some of these races live. If you’re into cars and racing, you should definitely check it out. It’s a whole different world out there!
