Hey everyone, it’s been a while! Today, I wanna share something a little different, but I think you’ll find it interesting. I got hooked on baseball a few years back, and I’ve been following the Washington Nationals ever since. You know how it is, you start with one game, and next thing you know, you’re trying to figure out the whole team’s roster! So, I decided to dig into their 2019 season because that was a great year for them. Here is what I did.
First, I needed to get a feel for the team’s performance that year.
I started by checking out some general info. Turns out, 2019 was a big year for the Nationals – they actually won the World Series! That got me even more pumped to learn about the players. They won the 2019 World Series against the Houston Astros. How cool is that? They finished 2nd in the NL East and had 93 wins and 69 losses. Pretty impressive, right?
Then, I focused on getting a comprehensive list of players.
- I found a few sites that had detailed rosters, with player names sorted by their positions. That was super helpful.
- I learned that every player who appeared in a game is included on that list. The names I noted are Kurt Suzuki, Sean Doolittle, Howie Kendrick, Adrin Sanchez, and Daniel Hudson. I will find out the rest of the players later.
Next, I dived into the statistics!
- I figured batting and pitching stats would be a good starting point. There were sites that provided this information.
- I discovered that Anthony Rendon had 126 RBI, which I think means he was a key run-scorer. He also had a great batting average, .319.
- On the pitching side, Stephen Strasburg was a star with 18 wins! That’s a lot of games won for the team, which makes me excited.
Finally, I put it all together.
- I made a simple table with positions, player names, and some key stats to organize everything.
- This whole process was pretty fun, and I learned a lot about the 2019 Washington Nationals and their amazing season. It’s not just about the names, but also understanding their roles and how they contributed to the team’s success.
