Well, well, well, look at this, we talkin’ ’bout them legendary pokemon dragon, huh? Them’s the big shots, the ones you hear stories about. Not just any old critter you find in the tall grass, these are the real deal.

My grandson, he’s always goin’ on about these things. Got a whole binder full of cards, pictures of ’em, all that. Says he wants to catch ’em all. Catch a cold is more like it, stayin’ inside all day starin’ at that there screen.
But these dragon ones, they’re somethin’ else. Big, scary, breathin’ fire and whatnot. I remember back in my day, we didn’t have these fancy pocket monsters. We had real monsters, like that ol’ bull down by Miller’s farm. Now that was a beast.
But these legendary pokemon dragon, they got all sorts of powers. Some of ’em, they say, can control the weather. Make it rain, make it shine, whatever they want. Sounds like a load of hogwash to me, but who am I to say?
- There is one, big fella, name of Ray-something. Green as a bean, flies around in the sky. My grandson, he showed me a picture. Said this one keeps the peace between two other big shots. One made of water and the other, land, I reckon.
- Then there’s this other one, kinda like a big ol’ snake, but with wings. Dragon-something, I think he called it. Four times weak to ice. That boy, he sure knows a lot of these things.
These fellas live up high in the sky. People want to catch them. You need to be strong. You gotta be tough, like wranglin’ a greased pig at the county fair. And you need to heal your pokemon, you know? You need to take care of your pokemon after a fight.
My grandson, he told me about these other two. One is Reshiram, the other is Zekrom. These names are all too much for me. I just like to call them big dragon. One can use fire, one can use, uh, thunder, I think. People fight each other with these pokemon. My grandson, he also does that. He said he uses Garchomp. Sounds strong, right?

He also told me that them legendary pokemon dragon, they like to taunt. Like they’re too good for you. They will move around and make you hard to catch them. My grandson told me some tricks, but, I forgot what he said. You need to throw a ball, he said. The ball will catch them. Not easy, he said.
And what’s this about ice? These dragons, some of ’em, don’t like ice. Makes ’em weak. Like when I put ice on my sore knee. Feels good for me, but not for these dragons, I guess.
My grandson told me another name, Dialga, I think. This one, he said, is special. I don’t know why. They are all special to me. But this Dialga, it does not like ice. He is strong against ice. Oh, also, this poison dragon. I don’t know the name, but my grandson was talkin’ about it the other day. Seems like there’s a whole lot of these things.
Pokemon Sword and Shield, that’s what he calls it. Sounds like a right mess if you ask me. Swords and shields and dragons. Back in my day, we just had sticks and stones. And we were happy with it, too. But you need strategy to use them, that’s what my grandson said.
These young folks, they got all sorts of ways to learn about these things. Guides, they call ’em. Tell you how to raise ’em, how to train ’em, all that. We just had to figure things out on our own. Walked uphill both ways, in the snow, to learn anythin’.

There’s so many of these legendary pokemon dragon. Each one is different, he says. Got different powers, different weaknesses. It’s all very confusin’. I think I’ll stick to my garden. At least I understand carrots and tomatoes.
But these dragons, they’re somethin’ else. If you’re gonna try to catch one, you better be ready. It ain’t gonna be easy. You gotta be smart, gotta be strong. And you gotta have a whole lot of patience. More patience than I got, that’s for sure.
These legendary pokemon dragon are not easy to find, let alone catch. But they are powerful, I can tell that much. Just make sure you are ready to battle them. You know, it is not easy. The young people have a lot of tricks. Just watch out.
