OK, so I wanna talk about my little journey with golf, specifically this whole “swing posture” thing. I’ve been hitting the green for a while now, and I always felt like something was off. I mean, I could get the ball to go, but it was never quite right, you know?

So, I started digging around, watching videos, reading stuff, and it seemed like my posture was a major culprit. Turns out, getting that right is half the battle. I found this one guy talking about using your core and rotating. Sounded simple enough, but boy, was it a game-changer.

First thing I tried was working on my hip movement. This guy said faster hips equal more power. I grabbed a club and started practicing, just focusing on rotating from my core, not just my arms. I put the club between my feet and practiced the move. It felt weird at first, I won’t lie. But I kept at it.

Then, there was this other thing, this “airplane drill.” You basically stand like you’re about to take off, all balanced and stuff. I incorporated this into my routine. I’d stand there, trying to feel like an airplane, which, honestly, made me feel a bit silly, but I stuck with it.

  • Impact Position Drill:

And finally, I focused on what they call the “impact position.” I’d get into my golf stance, extend my arm, and hold the clubface, just getting a feel for where I should be when I actually hit the ball. It was like training my body to remember the right position.

Results

I started doing these drills every day, even if it was just for a few minutes. And slowly, I started noticing a difference. My swing felt smoother, more controlled. I was hitting the ball further, and more importantly, straighter. It wasn’t just about power anymore; it was about precision.

It took some time, and it definitely wasn’t easy. But messing around with these drills, focusing on my core, and just being more mindful of my posture, it really did make a huge difference. I’m still no pro, but I’m definitely enjoying the game a lot more now. It’s like I finally understand what my body is supposed to be doing out there.
