Alright, so, I got this idea to try and make some extra cash with the Portland Trail Blazers. I’m no expert, but I’ve been following them for a while, and I figured, why not see if I can make something happen?

First off, I started digging into what’s been going on with the team. They’ve been around for over 50 years, and they’ve had some legendary players, like Bill Walton, Damian Lillard, and Clyde Drexler. I read somewhere that their revenue last season was like 335 million U.S. dollars. That’s a lot of dough, but that didn’t help me, just some background info.
Then, I focused on the trade stuff. I saw a bunch of articles talking about Jerami Grant. Apparently, he’s a big deal, and there’s talk about him being traded. I thought, “Okay, this could be something.” There’s also this guy, Anfernee Simons, who’s only 25, and he’s a potential trade piece too. Then there are others, some other players like Matisse Thybulle and Robert Williams III might also be on the move, especially if the Blazers are trying to rebuild or something.
So, I started thinking about how I could get in on this. I saw that on December 15th, a lot of players who signed contracts during the offseason become eligible to be traded. I figured that’s when things might start heating up, and maybe some teams would be looking to make moves.
I also read about some trade proposal where the Trail Blazers could get a star forward for Grant. Some guy named Franco Luna wrote about it, but honestly, it was all a bit over my head. Still, it gave me an idea that trading was my way in.
My next move was to see what the Blazers actually did recently. I found out they traded this Tyler Kolek guy, who they just drafted, to the New York Knicks. In return, they got a bunch of second-round picks for 2027, 2029, and 2030. Seemed like they’re planning for the long game.

- Looked up team history and finances.
- Identified potential trade targets like Jerami Grant and Anfernee Simons.
- Noted the December 15th trade eligibility date.
- Researched recent trades, like the Tyler Kolek deal.
Now, here’s where I tried to actually do something. I reached out to a couple of people I know who are into basketball, and one of them had a contact who knows a bit about the NBA. I know, it sounds like a stretch, but I figured it was worth a shot. I explained my idea about trying to get involved in a trade somehow, maybe as a middleman or something, and asked if they had any advice.
They told me it was a long shot, but they gave me some pointers on how trades work, who the decision-makers are, and what kind of things teams look for. It was a lot to take in, but I felt like I had a bit more of a plan.
Honestly, I’m still not sure how this is going to turn out. It’s a complicated world, and I’m just a regular guy trying to make a few bucks. But I’ve learned a lot through this whole process, and it’s been pretty interesting. I’ll keep digging and see if anything comes of it. Who knows, maybe I’ll stumble into something big. Or maybe I’ll just end up with a cool story to tell. Either way, it’s been a fun ride so far. I haven’t actually made any money yet, but I’m hopeful. This whole thing is still up in the air, but I’m gonna keep at it and see where it goes.
What I’ve done so far:
- Reached out to contacts for advice.
- Learned more about how NBA trades work.
I’ll keep you guys updated if anything interesting happens. Wish me luck!
