Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this idea of creating a “knowledge magazine” – basically, a place to dump all the cool stuff I learn and want to remember. Here’s how I went about it, step-by-step.

The Brainstorm
First, I needed a place to actually put all this information. I thought about using regular note-taking apps, but I wanted something a bit more… structured, you know? More like a real magazine, but digital.
Picking the Tools
After some digging around, I decided to try using a simple combination of tools:
- Markdown files: For writing the actual content. It’s easy to read and write, and I can style it later if I want.
- A folder structure: To organize everything by topic. So, like, a folder for “Programming,” another for “History,” and so on.
- Obsidian: Markdown file viewer and editor.
Building the Thing
I started by creating the main folder – I just called it “Knowledge Magazine.” Then, inside that, I made subfolders for each of the big topics I’m interested in. For example:
- Knowledge Magazine
- Programming
- History
- Science
- …and so on
Next, I opened one of those folders (like “Programming”) and created a new Markdown file. I named it something descriptive, like “Python_Data_*.”
Inside that file, I just started writing! I used Markdown headings (you know, the # and ## things) to organize the content into sections. It looked something like this:

I can use obsidian to view the markdown file, it’s easy, and the style can be customized.
Keeping it Going
The hard part, of course, is actually keeping this thing updated. What I’ve been trying to do is, whenever I learn something new and interesting, I immediately open up the right folder, create a new Markdown file (or open an existing one), and jot down some notes. It do not have to be perfect, just get the information down.
Then If I want to create a article, I can write the content I want.
The Result (So Far)
It’s still a work in progress, obviously. But I’ve already got a decent little collection of notes and articles going. It’s surprisingly satisfying to see it all organized like this. It feels less like a jumbled mess of notes and more like… well, a magazine!
It’s not perfect, and I’m sure I’ll tweak the system over time. But for now, it’s a pretty good way for me to keep track of all the random stuff I learn. And hey, maybe one day I’ll even share it with other people!
