Okay, so, I’ve been diving deep into NBA history lately, and it got me thinking, who are the best point guards ever? So I decided to make my own list, a top 10, and man, it was tougher than I thought!

First, I started by watching a bunch of old games. I mean, a lot. Like, way too many, my girlfriend started to give me strange looks for a while. I went way back, even to the black and white era, trying to get a feel for how the game has changed.
Then I started making a list of all the point guards that ever made an impact. And let me tell you, that list got long real quick. I had everyone on there, the big names, the underdogs, everyone. I even included some of my personal favorites, even if they weren’t, you know, critically acclaimed.
Next, I started comparing stats. Points, assists, rebounds, the whole nine yards. I spent hours pouring over spreadsheets, comparing players from different eras. And it’s not just about the numbers, right? You gotta factor in things like championships, MVPs, and All-Star appearances. Also I read some articles and others’ rank, and I found there is no way some guys better than others!
Then came the hardest part: ranking them. This is where it got really messy. I had to make some tough calls, and I’m sure not everyone will agree with me. There were some serious internal debates, and I changed my mind like a million times. For example, two players have similar honors, one with two-time MVP, 10-time All-Star, and four-time NBA champion, while the other one with three MVPs, 12 All-Star appearances, it’s really hard to choose!
My Final List
After all that, I finally came up with my top 10. It was a heck of a journey, let me tell you. Here’s what I got, in no particular order, because ranking them was hard enough:

- Magic Johnson – This guy was just pure magic on the court. No explanation needed.
- Stephen Curry – Changed the game with his shooting. Unbelievable.
- Isiah Thomas – A true leader and a winner, even though some lists have him lower. I don’t agree with that!
- Chauncey Billups – “Mr. Big Shot”. I love his style.
- (And a few more, but you get the idea…)
It was a fun project, and it really made me appreciate the history of the game and the amazing point guards who have graced the court. I had a blast doing this, and I hope you enjoyed reading about my little adventure. Let me know what you think, and who you would put on your list!
