I finally went to the Kentucky Three-Day Event, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride from start to finish!
I’d heard about this event for a while, and this year I decided, “Why not?” So, I packed my bags and off I went. I arrived a couple of days before the event started, just to get a feel for the place and maybe do some shopping. They had tons of vendors selling all sorts of stuff, which was pretty cool.
The first day of the event, I watched the dressage competition. Now, I’m no expert, but seeing those horses move so gracefully was really something. I spent the whole day walking around, checking out the different arenas, and just soaking it all in.

The facilities were pretty decent. They had food and drink stalls everywhere, clean toilets, and help points if you needed anything. There was even a first aid station and a lost property area, which thankfully I didn’t need to use. Getting in and out was a breeze too, with clear entry gates and good signage.
I heard it gets pretty crowded, so I made sure to arrive early each day. That way, I got a good spot to watch and didn’t have to fight through crowds. Plus, I got to see the horses warming up, which was a nice bonus.
