Okay, so I wanted to talk a bit about my recent experience trying to figure out the multiplayer situation with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. I’d been playing through the first game, Fallen Order, and really liked it. Solid story, fun combat, you know the deal. But while playing it, I kept thinking, man, this would be cool with a friend. Maybe some co-op challenges or even just exploring together.
So when Survivor was coming out, I kinda naturally assumed, or maybe just hoped, they’d add some kind of multiplayer. It’s a sequel, right? Sequels usually add things. Bigger worlds, more skills, maybe online play? Seemed like a possibility, especially since the folks who made it, Respawn, they know how to do multiplayer stuff, look at Apex Legends.
Getting Started and Looking Around
Anyway, I got the game downloaded and installed. Took a while, these games are huge now. Booted it up, excited to jump in. But the first thing I did, even before diving into the story, was poke around the main menu. I was specifically looking for any sign of ‘Multiplayer’, ‘Online’, ‘Co-op’, anything like that.

Nothing. Hmm. Okay, I thought, maybe you have to unlock it? Or maybe it’s accessed from within the game itself? So, I started the single-player campaign, got through the opening sections, got control of Cal. First chance I got, I paused the game. Went through all the in-game menus again. Still no sign of anything multiplayer-related.
Hitting the Web for Answers
At this point, I started thinking I might have just made a bad assumption. You know how you can get an idea in your head and just run with it? So, I did the next logical thing: paused the game and grabbed my phone. Typed in something like “star wars jedi survivor multiplayer mode”.
And yeah, the search results were pretty clear, almost instant. Every gaming site, every forum discussion, they all said the same thing. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is strictly a single-player game. Just like Fallen Order. No co-op modes, no competitive multiplayer, nothing online connecting players.
Final Thoughts
So, that was that. Kind of a quick journey from hope to reality check. A bit of a bummer, if I’m being honest. I still had those ideas of cool co-op takedowns or lightsaber duels with buddies. But hey, it is what it is. The developers decided to focus purely on the single-player story and experience, and that’s fine. Sometimes trying to tack on multiplayer can stretch a team too thin and make both parts weaker. I remember that phase years ago when it felt like every single-player game had to have some weird multiplayer mode glued onto it.
