Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this thing called “age reversal” in RimWorld, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I wanted to keep my colonists young and spry, you know, avoid the whole “old age” problem. So I started digging into how to do it.

First, I learned about these biosculpter pods. Apparently, you can shove your colonists in them, and they come out younger. Sounds simple enough, right? These pods are part of the Ideology DLC, so you need to have it installed. I already had it, so I was good to go.
Then I found that you need to do some prep work. I built a room, made sure it was clean, and slapped down a biosculpter pod in there. These pods use something called a “bioactive gel”.
Once everything was set up, I had one of my older colonists hop into the pod. The first time someone uses it, the pod “biotunes” to them. It means that nobody else can use that pod afterward. But it also means that future cycles for that colonist will be 25% quicker.
- I put my colonist in the pod.
- Waited for the cycle to finish.
- Boom, they were 1 year younger!
But then I found out you can tweak the adult aging speed. I set the aging speed to 6x. Then I used the biosculpter de-aging, it reduced 6 years each! When the pawn got back to a young age, I set the aging back to 1x.
More Attempts
I tried to do this to another colonist. I set up a festival, and 50% of the time the reward was a new colonist. If you capture a new pawn, you can convert them to your preferred ideology. You know what? It’s really a way to add new colonists.

I also saw some chatter online about using sterile tiles to speed up the process. People were saying they got it up to 115% faster. Also, someone recommended adding Transhumanist to my Ideology. I gave it a shot, and it seemed to help. Also, I heard that bionic hearts + luciferium can make your colonists immune to the negative effects of aging, but I haven’t tried it yet.
So, that’s where I’m at now. It’s a bit of a process, but it’s definitely doable. My colonists are staying young, and I’m learning new tricks along the way. It’s pretty cool to see your colonists walking around, looking like they haven’t aged a day. This RimWorld stuff is pretty addictive, I gotta say.
