Okay, so, about this Richmond Cup Race 2024 thing. I gotta tell you, it was a wild ride from start to finish. First off, I had to figure out what this whole deal was about, right? First big race and all. I also learned that there are 36 drivers who will race in Las Vegas, 34 full-timers, imagine that.
Then, I went down this rabbit hole of trying to figure out the schedule. Saturday this, Sunday that, it was a lot to keep track of. I mean, they even said the schedule was “tentative and subject to change,” so who knows what actually happened.
But here’s the kicker, I read that this Richmond race was gonna be the first one in 2024 to have its second race of the year on a Sunday night. Like, they already raced there once, and now they’re going back? That’s wild.
I also checked out who the top dogs in NASCAR are right now. We’re talking Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, Tyler Reddick, William Byron, and Ryan Blaney. These guys are at the top of their game.
What I did next was kind of crazy.

- I tried to learn all the drivers’ names and their cars.
- I even made a little chart to keep track of who was good at what.
The Day of the Race
Finally, the big day arrived. I tuned in, all excited to see how my newfound “expertise” would hold up. And you know what? Austin Dillon won! The guy had a 68-race winless streak, and he broke it at Richmond. Talk about a comeback!
So yeah, that was my adventure with the Richmond Cup Race 2024. I went in knowing nothing, and I came out feeling like a bit of a NASCAR fan. I wouldn’t say I’m an expert now, but I definitely learned a lot. It was a fun ride, that’s for sure.
