Well, let me tell you, that race in Charlotte, it was somethin’ else! I seen it on that there TV, you know. Lots of folks talkin’ ’bout it, that’s for sure. It’s all over that NASCAR thing, I hear ’em say. Them cars, they go round and round so fast, make your head spin just watchin’ ’em. My eyes ain’t what they used to be, but I saw enough to know it was a big deal. Some fella named Joey won, I think, that Logano fella. Seems like a big shot now, winnin’ that big ol’ race. Race results, they call it.
They had that race down in, uh, Phoenix, I reckon. That’s what they said on the TV anyhow. Hot down there, I bet. Not like here. We got seasons, you know. Anyway, this Logano fella, he won the whole dang thing. They said it’s like his third time winnin’ somethin’ big. Championship they call it. I don’t know much ’bout it but he sure did seem happy. He won that NASCAR Cup Series Championship, that’s the important part. I reckon he’s set for life now. It is not easy to win it but he did it.
And that other fella, Blaney, I think his name was, he came in second. They work together, those two, on the same team or somethin’. Penske, I think it was called. It is all about teamwork they said. He was close, but that Logano, he just pulled ahead at the end. Them last few laps, whew, it was excitin’! They was neck and neck for a while there. You could cut the tension with a knife, I tell ya.
Now, to watch these race results from Charlotte things, you need one of them cable things. We got one, but it’s always goin’ out. Darn thing. Anyway, you need a bunch of channels. Fox, somethin’ called FS1, NBC, and somethin’ called USA Network. Lot of channels just to watch some cars go around. They split it up, I guess, so you gotta have ’em all if you wanna see every race. Seems like a lot of trouble to me, but folks sure do love it.
Some fellas got kicked out, I heard. Bowman, Cindric, some fella named Suarez, and Briscoe. They didn’t make the cut, I guess. It’s a tough business, this racin’ thing. They said that those fellas were eliminated from playoff contention. What is playoff? I don’t know. All I know is they don’t race anymore. Only those fastest ones can race in the final. There was a race in Las Vegas, and another one in a place called Homestead. And then one in Martinsville. That’s a mouthful, ain’t it? And that Logano fella, he made it through all that. And that Reddick fella too. He won in Homestead, I think. He’s a good one too, I reckon.
That Logano, he drives that number 22 car. They show it a lot on TV. Yellow car mostly. Can’t miss it. It is a Ford, I heard. And there is another fella, number 5, he drives a Chevrolet. Different cars, I guess, for different folks. There are so many different numbers. Hard to keep them in mind. But number 22 and number 5 are the ones you should remember. That’s what they kept saying.
These race results from Charlotte, it’s a big deal, I tell ya. Lots of folks watchin’. Gets ’em all riled up. It’s like a big party, but with cars. And noise. Lots and lots of noise. I don’t understand what those folks say, but all I know is that it is a big deal. I prefer my peace and quiet, myself. But to each their own, I always say.
They got all kinds of rules and such, I’m sure. Don’t rightly know ’em all. Just know they go fast and turn left a lot. And sometimes they crash. That’s always a sight. I saw it on TV a few years back. That is scary. But they got those special suits and helmets, so they’re usually okay. Tough fellas, these race car drivers.

Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about that race in Charlotte. It was somethin’, that’s for sure. Kept me entertained for a while, anyway. Now, where’s my knitting? I got a scarf to finish. Those race results from Charlotte sure made a lot of folks happy, though. That Logano fella, he’s a lucky one. He won the whole thing. Now he can sit back and relax, I guess. Or maybe he’s gotta start trainin’ for the next one. Who knows? It’s a crazy world, this racin’ world. But that Logano sure did good.
