Okay, so, let’s talk about my trip to Rillito Park in 2024. I’d heard some mixed things, but hey, I’m always up for an adventure, right? So, I decided to check it out myself.

First off, I got there and paid the parking fee, which was like 3 bucks. No biggie. Then, paid another 5 bucks to get in. Pretty standard stuff. I walked around, and honestly, it’s a cute little park. I saw that they hold horse races there, but I missed the races that day. But there were a lot of people.
I did notice that there were a few different parts to the park. It looks like there’s the Rillito River Park part, which follows the river, and then there’s this Rillito Vista Park, which I guess is in Marana? Didn’t get to see that one.
So I found this parking lot near Campbell Avenue and just parked there. It was small, but it did the job. I strolled along this path they call “The Loop.” It’s like this pedestrian and bike path that goes on for miles. Pretty cool, I guess, if you’re into that sort of thing. Saw lots of people biking and walking their dogs.
I read somewhere online that they won’t have racing at Rillito Park in 2025 because of some bidding issues. Sounds like a mess. I don’t know much about that, but it’s a shame, I guess. It would have been fun to see a race.
- Went to Rillito Park.
- Paid for parking and entry.
- Explored the area near Campbell Avenue.
- Walked along “The Loop” path.
- Learned about the racing situation for 2025.
All in all, it was a decent day out. Nothing too crazy, but a nice little escape. If you’re in Tucson and you’ve got a few hours to kill, it’s worth checking out. Just don’t expect anything too fancy, you know? It’s just a chill park to hang out at.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I tried to take some photos but it looks like nobody has uploaded a photo to Rillito Vista Park. I guess I would be the first one to upload.
Conclusion
It was a good day at Rillito Park, I enjoyed the walk and the atmosphere, I even took some photos. I will go there next time to see a horse race.
