Phoenix Rodeo Fest Schedule: Plan Your Visit and Enjoy the Show!

Alright, so let me tell you about this weekend – total blast! Went to the rodeo fest thing in Phoenix.

Phoenix Rodeo Fest Schedule: Plan Your Visit and Enjoy the Show!

First off, getting there was a mission. You know how it is, Phoenix traffic is NO JOKE. Left the house way earlier than I thought I needed to, and I’m still cutting it close. Finally parked, wrestled my way through the crowds at the entrance – people EVERYWHERE.

Once I was in, it was all cowboy hats and country music. Started by grabbing a beer, obviously. Then just wandered around, checking out the booths. There were vendors selling everything – belt buckles the size of your hand, boots that probably cost more than my car, and enough BBQ to feed a small army.

I watched some of the rodeo events. That bull riding is insane, man. Those guys are nuts. Managed to catch a few seconds of the barrel racing too – those horses are FAST. I’m not a huge rodeo guy usually, but being there, feeling the energy of the crowd, it was pretty damn cool.

Ate some BBQ ribs that were fall-off-the-bone delicious. So messy, I had sauce all over my face and hands. Didn’t even care. Listened to some live music. I’m not gonna lie, I only knew like two of the songs, but the band was good, and everyone was having a great time.

Later in the evening, things got a little rowdier. More beers were flowing, people were dancing, and someone even started line dancing in the middle of everything. It was a whole scene.

  • What I wore: Jeans, t-shirt, and my beat-up old cowboy boots. Had to look the part, right?
  • What I ate: BBQ ribs (obviously), some cornbread, and a questionable-looking but surprisingly tasty funnel cake.
  • What I drank: A few ice-cold beers. Perfect for the Phoenix heat.

Leaving was another adventure. Getting out of the parking lot was a nightmare. Took like an hour just to get back on the road. But hey, totally worth it.

Overall?

Would definitely go again. It’s a fun, chaotic, and totally Arizona experience. If you’re ever in town when it’s happening, check it out. You won’t regret it. Just maybe Uber instead of drive.
