Okay, so I’ve been wanting to check out Persimmon Hill Golf Club for a while now. I kept hearing good things about it, you know, the usual “great course,” “challenging but fun” kind of buzz. So, I finally decided to book a tee time and see for myself.

First thing I did was hop on my computer and look them up. I needed to find their number to book a time, and, let’s be honest, I wanted to get a sneak peek at the course layout. Their website was easy enough to navigate, thank goodness. Found the number, no problem.
I gave them a call, and the guy on the other end was super friendly. We chatted for a bit about available times, and I snagged a Saturday morning slot. Score!
Saturday rolls around, and I’m pumped. I loaded up my clubs, grabbed my golf shoes (don’t want to forget those!), and headed out. It’s a bit of a drive from my place, but the weather was perfect, so I didn’t mind.
When I pulled up, I was impressed. The clubhouse looked really nice, and the driving range was packed. I checked in, paid my green fee, and grabbed a scorecard. I spent a few minutes on the practice green getting a feel. They had a separate chiping green and i went through a few dozen short chip shots to work on touch around the green.
The Course
- Hole 1: A pretty straightforward par 4. I managed to hit a decent drive, but my approach shot ended up a little short. Still, I two-putted for par, so I wasn’t complaining.
- Hole 5: Okay, this one was a beast! A long par 5 with a water hazard right in front of the green. I played it safe and laid up, but still ended up with a bogey.
- Hole 10: A beautiful par 3 with an elevated tee box. I almost got a hole-in-one! The ball landed just a few feet from the pin. Easy birdie.
- Hole 18: A great finishing hole. A dogleg left with bunkers guarding the green. I managed to par it, which felt like a victory after that round.
Overall, I had a blast at Persimmon Hill. The course was in great shape, the greens were fast, and the layout was challenging but fair. I definitely want to go back and play it again. Maybe next time I’ll break 90!

After the round, I grabbed a quick bite to eat at the clubhouse grill. Burger and fries, classic golfer fuel. It hit the spot. All in all, a solid day of golf. I am adding it to my list of local courses I will play again.
