Okay, let me tell you about my trip out to October Oaks Farm the other day.

Getting Out There
I’d been wanting to get out of the house, you know? Just needed a change of scenery. Heard about this place, October Oaks Farm, from a neighbor. Sounded kinda nice and simple, so I figured, why not? Packed a small bag, hopped in the car, and just started driving.
The drive itself wasn’t too bad. Mostly country roads once I got off the main highway. It was nice seeing the trees starting to turn, all those reds and yellows. Felt good just to be heading somewhere different for a bit.
First Look at the Farm
Pulling up, it wasn’t anything super fancy. Just looked like a real working farm, which I actually liked. There was this long gravel driveway lined with some really big, old oak trees – guess that’s where the name comes from, right? Made sense. It felt quiet, peaceful even, right from the start. Parked the car and just took a deep breath of that fresh air. Definitely different from the city.
Wandering Around
So, I just started walking. No real plan. There were some barns and sheds scattered around. Saw a few chickens scratching in the dirt, didn’t seem bothered by me at all. Then I came across a field with some cows munching on grass. They just looked up for a second, then went back to eating. Pretty chill animals.
- Walked past an old tractor parked near a fence. Looked like it had seen better days, but still cool.
- Found a little path that went back towards the woods a bit. Followed it for a while.
- Saw some pumpkins piled up near one of the barns. Definitely felt like October.
Didn’t really talk to many people. Saw a couple folks working, gave them a nod, they nodded back. It wasn’t like a tourist attraction, more like just being allowed to wander around someone’s property, which was fine by me. It felt genuine, you know?

The Feel of the Place
The best part was probably just the quiet. Standing under those huge oak trees, listening to the wind rustle the leaves… it was really calming. Very relaxing. Spent a good couple of hours just exploring, looking at things, not really doing much of anything specific. It wasn’t about checking boxes, just experiencing the place.
Honestly, it was just a simple day out. Nothing earth-shattering happened. But sometimes that’s exactly what you need, right? Just a quiet place to walk around and clear your head. October Oaks Farm was good for that. Glad I went.
