Okay, so, I wanted to get into the whole tennis scene in Washington, DC. I’ve always been a fan of watching tennis, you know, but never really dug into the local stuff. So, I decided to check out the Mubadala Citi DC Open, because it’s a big deal here.
First thing I did was to find out where I could get live scores. Turns out, there are a bunch of places! I looked at ESPN, BBC Sport, and a few others. They all had pretty much the same info, which was good. I saw that one site, TNNS, was boasting about being the “only” app you need, but honestly, they all do the job.
The main thing I wanted was to see the scores and the schedule, so I could plan my day around which matches I wanted to try and see, or at least keep up with. I also noticed that some of these sites had news and videos, too, which was a nice bonus. I’m not much into stats, but they had those, too.
I noticed that some sites like ESPN had detailed info on both the men’s and women’s matches, which is great. Others focused more on one or the other. I was particularly interested in the women’s matches. And I found one site that showed a summary of the scores for Wta-d Washington Dc Usa scores.
Then I dug a little deeper into how tennis scores actually work. I mean, I knew the basics, but I wanted to understand it better. Turns out, to win a game, you need four points. And they have these weird names for the points: love, 15, 30, 40, and then game. And if it gets to 40-40, they call it “deuce.”

- 15 is the first point.
- 30 is the second point.
- 40 is the third point.
- “Game” means you’ve won the game.
It was quite the learning experience, diving into all these websites and figuring out the whole tennis scoring thing. I feel like I’ve got a much better handle on it now. Plus, I’ve got a list of sites I can check to keep up with the scores for the Mubadala Citi DC Open. I even saw that E. Raducanu beat E. Mertens in a match! That was a good one.

So, yeah, it was a fun little research project. I feel way more prepared to follow the tournament now. It’s cool to know that there are so many resources out there to keep track of the scores and everything. Now, I can casually drop some tennis score knowledge in conversation and not sound like a total noob. This is gonna be a great tournament!
