Okay, so, I wanted to catch the Mississippi State baseball game today. I’m not a die-hard fan or anything, but I do like watching them when I can. First thing I did was grab my phone and start looking around to see if I could find out who they were playing and, most importantly, if they won.

I spent a few minutes poking around different sports sites. I saw something about them starting play way back in 1884 – wow, that’s old! They’ve apparently made it to the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship a bunch of times and even the College World Series once, back in 1954. I guess they have a pretty good history.
Then I stumbled on some info about their recent games. I saw a bit about a game where it was the bottom of the 9th inning, and some guys named Hines and Larry struck out. That didn’t sound too good. I also saw something about them playing against Oklahoma State on March 2nd, but I wasn’t sure if that was today’s game or not.
I kept digging and found that their current record was something like 17-13 or 19-11, depending on where I looked. It also mentioned they were playing a three-game series at a place called Dudy Noble Field, and that they were the No. 2 seed in the Charlottesville Regional of the NCAA Tournament. Sounds like a big deal!
Finally, I found a mention of a series finale against Georgia in Starkville. This sounded like it might be today’s game, but it was still pretty vague.
So, after all that, did I actually find out who won today’s game? Nope, not really. It seems like they were playing Georgia, but I couldn’t find a final score anywhere. Maybe I’ll have to check back later tonight or tomorrow to get the final results.

I gotta say, it’s a bit frustrating when you’re just trying to find a simple score, but you end up going down a rabbit hole of all these other details. But hey, I learned a little bit about Mississippi State’s baseball history, so that’s something, right?
