Okay, so today, let’s talk about Mike Skinner and his thing on The Grand Tour. You know, the guy who used to be The American in the show.
First off, I gotta say, I was kinda bummed when I heard he wasn’t coming back for the second season. I mean, the dude’s a former NASCAR racer and all that. He’s got the skills, you know?
So, I did some digging around. Turns out, he became like, the main driver for the show. They call him the ‘tame racing driver’, which I think is kinda funny. He’s the one who zooms around in those cars on that track they call the ‘ebola track’. Sounds intense, right?
I started watching the show because of Jeremy Clarkson. You know, love that guy, and it was during my free time that I found this show. At first, I didn’t really know who Mike was, but then I was like, “Who’s this American dude?” So, I looked him up.
Then I found out he and his wife, Angie, have been doing this radio show thing since 2015. It’s called The Skinner Round-Up, and it’s on that SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. I haven’t listened to it yet, but I probably should. They said it’s coming back on November 15th, so maybe I’ll tune in.
I kept watching the show, and Mike’s driving, man, it’s something else. I tried to imitate some of his moves in a racing game once. Let’s just say it didn’t end well. I ended up crashing more times than I could count. But it was fun, though.

Anyway, it’s cool to see what he’s been up to since he left the show. I mean, he’s not just a TV personality, he’s a real racer. And that radio show sounds like it would be fun to listen to if you’re into NASCAR and all that.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, Mike Skinner’s pretty cool. It’s been an interesting little journey learning about him, from watching him on the show to finding out about his other stuff. And hey, I’ve got a new radio show to check out now, so that’s a bonus.
My Two Cents
It’s always interesting to follow people’s careers, especially when they’re in the public eye. One day they’re on a TV show, the next they’re doing something completely different. I guess it’s a reminder that there’s always more to people than what you see on the surface. And sometimes, a little digging can lead you to some pretty cool discoveries.
