Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this NYT Mini crossword thing lately, and let me tell you, sometimes those little puzzles are way harder than they look. Today was one of those days. I cruised through the first few clues no problem, feeling all smug and smart, you know?
But then I hit this one clue: “Mario’s Twin”. Now, I’m not a huge gamer, but even I know Mario. I mean, who doesn’t, right? But for the life of me, I couldn’t remember who his twin was. I stared at those five empty squares, and my mind was a total blank. I started running through all the names I could think of… Peach? Bowser? Nah, those didn’t even fit.
I must have spent a good ten minutes just staring at the grid, wracking my brain. I even googled “Mario characters,” but nothing clicked. It was driving me nuts! Finally, in a last-ditch effort, I typed “Mario’s twin” into Google, and bam! There it was, staring me right in the face: LUIGI.
- I slapped my forehead. Of course! Luigi! How could I forget?
- I filled in the squares, and boom, puzzle solved.
- It was such a simple answer, but man, did it feel good to finally get it.
The “Aha!” Moment
I guess the lesson here is, even the simplest things can trip you up sometimes. And hey, there’s no shame in using Google to help you out. I used to think it was cheating, but now I think it’s just being resourceful. So yeah, that was my little adventure with the NYT Mini today. It’s a fun little way to kill some time and give your brain a workout. Just be prepared to get stumped every now and then, even by the easy-looking clues!
