Little Anthony & The Imperials: The Ultimate Fan Guide (Easy to Read)

So, I bumped into this “little anthony” thing and figured, why not give it a shot? I’ve been messing around with some personal projects, and this seemed like it could be a fun little detour.

First, I dug around to get a handle on what “little anthony” even was. Turns out, it’s all about making a simple…well, let’s just call it a digital pet. Basic stuff, really. But hey, everyone starts somewhere, right?

Getting Started

I fired up my trusty code editor. I ain’t no pro, so I kept things simple. HTML, CSS, and a sprinkle of JavaScript. That’s my comfort zone.

  • Created a basic HTML file. Just a plain canvas to put my “pet” on.
  • Added a little CSS to make it look…somewhat presentable. Let’s be real, I’m no artist.
  • Started coding the JavaScript part. This is where the “magic” happens, I guess.

The Messy Middle

This is where things got…interesting. I spent hours just trying to get the little guy to move. Like, seriously, just move across the screen. I felt like I was wrestling with the code, not writing it.

Lots of Googling, lots of trial and error. I copied and pasted code snippets like my life depended on it. Some worked, some…didn’t. It was a mess, but a beautiful mess, you know?

I added some interactions. Simple button to make little anthony make a sound. And, it works!

Finally, Something!

After what felt like forever, I finally got something working. My “little anthony” was…alive! It wasn’t pretty, but it moved, it responded, and it was kind of cute in its own, pixelated way.

It’s definitely not going to win any awards, but I made it. From scratch. That’s gotta count for something, right? It’s a reminder that even the simplest things can be a challenge, but also a lot of fun.

I learned a ton, even though it was just a silly little project. And that’s what matters, I think. Always be learning, always be creating. Even if it’s just a “little anthony.”
