Okay, so the other day I was trying to find some cool old-school basketball footage, and the name “Larry Kenon” popped up. I vaguely remembered him from back in the day, so I figured, why not dive in and see what I could find?
First, I hit up my usual spots – you know, just doing some general searches to get a feel for the guy. I quickly learned that Kenon was a major player in the ABA and early NBA, a real scoring machine.
Digging Deeper
After getting the basic overview, I started looking for videos. I wanted to see this guy in action, not just read about him.
- I typed in stuff like “Larry Kenon highlights” and “Larry Kenon best games”. A few videos popped up immediately.
- Then I tried some more specific searches, like “Larry Kenon Spurs” and “Larry Kenon ABA,” since I knew he played for different teams. That brought up even more stuff.
- Man, I spent a good hour just going down the rabbit hole, watching all sorts of grainy footage. It’s crazy to see how the game has changed!
Finding the Good Stuff
It took a bit of sifting, some of the quality wasn’t great. Some videos were just short clips, others were full games, but super blurry.
I found one full game with Dr.J. What a classic game. I’m so glad I could see it.

I also realize Larry Kenon is an ABA * a great player!
Honestly, it was a blast from the past. It’s easy to forget about these older players, but spending that time digging through the archives was totally worth it. I have new respect about this player.
