Okay, so today I want to talk about my journey of getting that darn Kingdom’s Edge map in Hollow Knight.

First off, I gotta say, finding Cornifer, the map guy, in Kingdom’s Edge was a real pain. I mean, I’d been playing for, like, 15 hours already, and this area was just confusing the heck out of me.
I started by exploring the City of Tears, cause the wiki said there’s a way to get to Kingdom’s Edge from there. Let me tell you, that place is huge! I spent ages running around, fighting those fancy-dressed bugs, and dodging those annoying spitting things.
Eventually, I found a way into a new area which was like a transit station. I took the stag and it dropped me off to the edge of the kingdom.
Once I got into Kingdom’s Edge, I knew I needed that map. So, I started hunting for Cornifer. Now, for any newbies out there, your best buddy in these situations is the Wayward Compass charm. Seriously, that thing is a lifesaver. It shows you where you are on the map, which is super helpful when you’re lost, which I was, a lot.
I followed the trail of notes he leaves, humming along to his tune. You can hear him humming when he’s close, you know? It’s a pretty catchy tune, not gonna lie. Anyway, I kept my ears open for that humming and my eyes peeled for those little pieces of paper he leaves behind.

I climbed up walls, jumped across platforms, and fought off a bunch of those weird, big, bouncy bugs. Man, those things are annoying. There were also these flying things that shoot spikes at you. Not fun.
Finally, after what felt like forever, I heard it! That sweet, sweet humming. I followed the sound and there he was, Cornifer, just chilling and drawing his maps. I bought the map from him, and boy, was I relieved. That map made exploring Kingdom’s Edge so much easier.
With the map in hand, I could finally see where I was going. I started exploring more systematically, filling out the map, and finding all sorts of hidden areas and secrets. I even found a couple of Grubs I’d missed earlier.
- First, get to the Kingdom’s Edge.
- Second, use the Wayward Compass.
- Third, listen for Cornifer’s humming.
- Finally, buy the map from him.
So yeah, that’s my story of getting the Kingdom’s Edge map. It was a bit of a struggle, but totally worth it in the end. If you’re having trouble, just keep exploring, listen for Cornifer, and don’t forget that Wayward Compass!
What a relief!
I hope my experience can help other new players to get this map. Good luck to everyone!
