Kenny Smith Knees: How Bad Are They Really? Fans are Concerned About Kennys Condition.

Man, you won’t believe what I’ve been digging into lately. It’s all about Kenny Smith’s knees. Yeah, you heard that right, the former NBA player, that Inside the NBA analyst, Kenny “The Jet” Smith. I watched that video where he had an embarrassing and painful moment on the show, and that got me thinking, maybe I should try to do some research about that.

So, I started by going down this rabbit hole of why basketball players, especially the elite shooters, often have this inward knee bend when they shoot. This whole thing is way more involved than I thought!

My Deep Dive

  • Observed a ton of game footage. I focused on how players position their knees during jump shots. I noticed that many top shooters tend to bend their knees inward slightly.
  • Read some articles and forum discussions. Apparently, it’s not just about how much power you put into the shot, but also about making sure that power is balanced from left to right.
  • Tried it out myself. I went to the court and experimented with different knee positions when shooting. It’s tougher than it looks to get that balance right.

It seems like this inward bend helps to channel the energy more efficiently through the upper body during the release of the shot. Who knew knees could be so crucial for a good shot, right?

Putting It to the Test

I’m no professional, but I decided to adjust my own shooting form based on what I learned. My goodness, I must say, it’s a whole different ball game—pun intended. It’s like I’m learning to shoot all over again, but hey, you gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet, right? By the way, did you know Kenny Smith’s mom is Jamaican, and his dad is British? I stumbled upon that little fact while doing my research.

I practiced for hours, focusing on keeping my knees aligned and slightly bent inwards. My shots felt a bit more stable, and I think I even increased my accuracy a bit. Still got a long way to go, but it’s pretty cool to see some improvement just by tweaking one aspect of my form.

This whole experience has been a real eye-opener. It’s amazing how small adjustments can make such a big difference. I’m definitely going to keep working on this and see where it takes me. Maybe I’ll become the next neighborhood basketball legend, ha! Just kidding, but you never know.

Anyway, that’s my latest obsession. Knees, basketball, and a bit of biomechanics thrown in for good measure. What a mix, huh?
