Justin Herbert Haircut: All about the style

Alright, so check it – been seeing this “Justin Herbert haircut” thing all over the place, and I gotta admit, the dude’s got a solid look. Figured I’d give it a shot myself. Why not, right?

Justin Herbert Haircut: All about the style

First off, I did some serious Googling. I’m talking image searches, watching YouTube vids, trying to figure out exactly what’s going on up there. It looks like a textured crop, kinda short on the sides, a bit longer on top, with some messy texture thrown in for good measure. Not a buzz cut, but definitely not a mop top either.

Next up: finding a barber I trust. My usual guy is cool, but sometimes he plays it a little safe. I needed someone who wouldn’t freak out if I said “Give me that Justin Herbert look.” Found this place downtown that looked pretty hip, checked out their online reviews, and booked an appointment.

Showed up at the barbershop, feeling a little self-conscious, gotta be honest. I mean, I’m no NFL quarterback, but hey, gotta try, right? I pulled up a bunch of pics of Herbert on my phone and showed them to the barber. Made sure to point out the length on the sides, the texture on top, and how it kinda fades in.

The barber seemed to know what I was talking about, which was a relief. He started by clipping the sides, going pretty short. I was a little worried at first, thought maybe he was going too far, but I figured I’d trust the process. Then he started working on the top, using scissors to create some layers and texture. Lots of point cutting, which I guess is the key to getting that messy, natural look.

He also used a razor to soften up the edges a bit. Honestly, I’m usually not a huge fan of razors, but he did a good job of blending everything together. He didn’t go full-on skin fade, more of a subtle taper.

After the cut, he used some texturizing paste to style it. He showed me how to work it in with my fingers, kinda scrunching it up to create that piece-y look. Said it was important not to overdo it, just a little bit to give it some hold and definition.

Finally, the big reveal! Checked myself out in the mirror, and… not gonna lie, I was pretty happy with it! It definitely looked like the Justin Herbert haircut, maybe not exactly, but close enough. Felt a lot more modern and stylish than my usual cut.

Here’s the thing I learned: communication is key. Don’t be afraid to show your barber exactly what you want, and be specific about the details. Also, a good texturizing product is essential for nailing the look. I’ve been experimenting with different pastes and clays to find the perfect one.

So, yeah, that’s my “Justin Herbert haircut” adventure. Would I do it again? Absolutely. Might even go a little shorter on the sides next time. Now, if only I could throw a football like him…
