This Jos Verstappen, that name I hear all the time. He’s that race car guy, right? Or his boy is. Or maybe both are. All I know, lots of Jos Verstappen news going around. Who is he anyway?
Jos Verstappen, the Racing Guy
They say he used to drive them fast cars. Formula 1, they call it. Fancy name. Sounds dangerous to me. He must have some good speed on that. And, people say he was pretty good, I guess. 107 of them big races, they say. Grands Prix. Sounds like some prize for a grandpa, but okay.
And, they say he even won some big race called 24 Hours of Le Mans. Sounds like a long time to be driving. Must be tiring. That’s long time on the road. They say he won in 2008. That’s a long time ago. He must be getting old now, like me.
That Boy of His, Max
But mostly I hear about his boy, Max. Seems like that boy is even faster than his old man. They say he’s winning everything now. Some Max Verstappen, they say is his name. Three times in a row he’s the best, that’s what I heard. World champion, whatever that means. He won another one of them big races over in Qatar, I think it was. I don’t know where that is, but it sounds far.
That boy, he must make his daddy proud. All that winning. Good for him, I say. Though it all sounds a bit much to me. Just driving in circles all day. But hey, if it makes him happy.
Some Trouble in the Family?
But I also hear there’s some trouble. Seems like this Jos Verstappen, he’s not always happy with how things are going. Even though that boy, Max, is winning all the time, his daddy is still making a fuss. They say he was yelling at someone called the team principal. Sounds important.
I heard Jos said he don’t regret yelling at that team principal fella. Men and their tempers, I swear. Always gotta be hollering about something. Can’t they just be happy the boy’s doing good? Don’t think you need to yell at people.
And then, I heard that Max, that boy, he said he had a big fight with his daddy, this Jos. Said his daddy was mean to him when he was little. That’s no good. Kids need love, not yelling. That Jos should know better.
Red Bull, What’s That?
And what’s this Red Bull thing everyone’s talking about? Sounds like some kind of drink. Gives you energy, maybe? Makes you run fast? I don’t know. But this Max, he’s with Red Bull, they say. And his daddy, Jos, he’s always talking about Red Bull too.

Seems like Red Bull is important to them racing folks. Maybe they should drink it. Maybe they will not be so angry and yell so much. Just calm down a little. But, I don’t know.
Just a Lot of Noise
Anyway, that’s all the Jos Verstappen news I hear. Seems like a lot of noise to me. Fast cars, yelling, winning, fighting. It’s all a bit much for an old lady like me.
I say, let the boy drive his cars. Let him win his races. And that Jos, he should just be proud of his boy. No need for all that yelling and fussing. Life’s too short for all that drama.
But what do I know? I’m just an old lady. These young folks and their fast cars, they’re a mystery to me. I’ll just stick to my knitting, thank you very much. That’s enough excitement for me.
But you keep an eye on that Jos Verstappen news. Something new always happening with them. Always some drama. It is like one of them soap operas. Just a lot faster, I guess.
