Jimmie Austin Golf Course Seminole: Your Ultimate Guide!

Okay, folks, let’s talk about my little golfing adventure at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Course in Seminole. I’m no pro, but I love getting out on the green, and I’d heard good things about this place, so I figured I’d give it a shot.

First things first, I booked a tee time online. It was pretty straightforward. I just found their website, picked a day and time that worked for me, and paid the greens fee. Easy peasy.

When I got to the course, I checked in at the pro shop. The staff there were super friendly and helpful. I rented a cart – because, let’s be honest, walking 18 holes in the Oklahoma heat is nobody’s idea of fun. It wasn’t that expensive and very necessary. I also grabbed a scorecard and a pencil, ’cause how else am I gonna keep track of all those birdies I’m definitely going to get? (Spoiler alert: I did not get many birdies.)

Hitting the Links

The course itself? Man, it was in great shape. The fairways were nicely mowed, and the greens were smooth. I mean, really smooth. My putting was all over the place, but that’s on me, not the course. The layout was also pretty interesting – a good mix of challenging holes and some that were a little more forgiving. (Thank goodness for those forgiving ones.)

  • I started out on the front nine. I think my best hole was probably the par-3 third. I actually managed to hit the green in one! (Small victories, people, small victories.)
  • I struggled a bit on the back nine. There were a couple of holes with water hazards that I just couldn’t seem to avoid. My golf balls are probably still swimming around in there somewhere.
  • I took a few breaks in the shade. As I said, the heat is powerful, so I have to protect myself.

Overall, I had a really good time. Even though my score wasn’t exactly brag-worthy, I enjoyed the challenge and the scenery. Plus, it’s just nice to get outside and whack a little white ball around for a few hours. It helped me relax a lot!

If I ever go back to Seminole, I will absolutely play at Jimmie Austin again. It will be great.
