Alright, so I had this crazy idea to get from Italy to Serbia. Not the usual way, mind you, with planes and all that. I wanted an adventure, a real road trip. So, I started planning.

Mapping It Out
First things first, I needed a route. I pulled up a map and started looking at the options. Going through Slovenia and Croatia seemed like the most straightforward path. I didn’t want to rush it, so I figured I’d take about 3-4 days, maybe even longer if I found cool places to stop along the way.
Getting the Ride Ready
Next up, the car. I have this old, but trusty, station wagon. It’s not fancy, but it’s got space. I took it to my mechanic, Tony, for a check-up. He changed the oil, checked the brakes, and made sure the tires were good to go. “She’s all set for a long haul,” he said, and I felt a lot better.
Packing the Essentials
Packing was pretty simple. I threw in some clothes, a tent (just in case), a sleeping bag, and a cooler for snacks and drinks. I also grabbed my camera, because, you know, gotta document the trip! Oh, and a good old-fashioned paper map, because sometimes technology fails you in the middle of nowhere.
Hitting the Road
I set off early one morning, the sun just starting to peek over the horizon. The first leg of the journey through Italy was beautiful. Rolling hills, vineyards, the works. I stopped at a few small towns, grabbed some coffee and pastries, and just soaked it all in.
- Day 1: Made it to the Slovenian border. Easy peasy.
- Day 2: Cruised through Slovenia. Super green and pretty.
- Day 3: Entered Croatia. The coastline was stunning! I spent a night camping near the sea.
- Day 4: Drove through the rest of Croatia and finally crossed into Serbia.
The Final Stretch
Serbia welcomed me with open arms. I find my old friend’s home.

That’s it. It is really easy to drive from Italy to Serbia.
