Yo, listen up, folks! Today, I’m gonna talk about that basketball thing, the NBA, yeah, that’s the one. They got some fellas in there, real good at throwin’ that ball around. I heard some folks talkin’, sayin’ they got a top 10, the best of the best, you know? So, I thought, “Hey, I gotta know who these fellas are!”
First off, there’s this one fella, Nikola Jokic. That’s what they call him. They say he’s won that MVP thing twice! Two times! Must be somethin’ special. He’s like, the top dog right now, I reckon. They say he’s gonna win it again, maybe. That’s what the whispers say, at least. He must be real good, this Jokic fella. He plays in the west. I think.
Then there’s these other two young’uns, also out west. One’s called Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, that’s a mouthful ain’t it? And the other’s Luka Doncic. They say these two are right behind that Jokic fella. Like they’re chasin’ him, tryin’ to be number one, you get me? They must be throwin’ that ball in the hoop real good too, to be up there with the best.
I also heard somethin’ about a Wemby. Is that right? Or did I hear it wrong? Sounds like a vegetable. Anyways, this Wemby must be new, but he’s makin’ waves or somethin’. Heard some folks makin’ lists and puttin’ him on there. He must be one to watch, I guess. People like to make lists, you know?

They got a whole bunch of these fellas playin’, more than 280 they say! And folks, they love to rank ’em, put ’em in order from best to, well, not-so-best. It’s like pickin’ the best apples from the whole darn orchard! Lots of folks have voted on their favorite players, over 200 thousand! That’s a lot of people, even more than live in my town!
They got this other list, the top 75. Someone named Skip, he made his own top 10 from that big list. People sure love makin’ lists about these basketball players. Must be important, I reckon. This Skip fella seems to know a lot about basketball.
And they say basketball is popular all over the world, not just here. People all over watchin’ these fellas play, cheerin’ ’em on. It’s a big deal, this basketball thing. People get real excited about their favorite players. Like how I get excited when my prize-winning rooster wins a ribbon at the fair.
They say that before the new season starts, they make these lists. Predictin’ who’s gonna be the best. It’s like tryin’ to guess which horse is gonna win the race before it even starts. I heard they made a list of the top 25 players this year. They got that Jokic fella right up top, as you would expect. They say it is a debate if he is number one, a big man debate. Whatever that means.
And let me tell ya somethin’, they do this every year! Every year, they got new lists, new rankings. It’s like, these fellas, they gotta prove themselves every single year. Gotta keep throwin’ that ball in the hoop, keep bein’ the best, or else they’ll fall down the list. It’s a tough life, being a basketball player, I suppose. But they seem to like it.
Now, I don’t know all the ins and outs of this basketball thing. I ain’t no expert. But I hear things, you know? And I hear these names, these top 10 fellas, and I think, “Wow, they must be somethin’ else.” They got folks all over the world watchin’ ’em, talkin’ about ’em, makin’ lists about ’em. It’s all very excitin’, I guess, if you’re into that sort of thing.
So, there you have it. That’s what I know about this NBA top 10 thing. It’s a big deal, a real big deal. And these fellas, these Jokic, Shai, Luka, and the others, they’re the best of the best. For now, at least. Until next year, when they gotta do it all over again. This new Wemby guy better look out! It seems like a lot of work. They say Steph is also in that list. He is good, I think. I am pretty sure I heard his name somewhere. This NBA thing is hard to follow. There are so many names!
