How much did the incredible Ronaldo truck cost? Uncover the price tag of this luxury vehicle.

Getting Started with the Ronaldo Truck Idea

Okay, so let me tell you about this little project I did, the “ronaldo truck” thing. It wasn’t anything super planned, you know? Just kinda happened. I was tidying up the garage, found this old remote control truck I bought ages ago for my nephew. He barely used it. It was just sitting there, collecting dust. Plain red thing, nothing special.

Then, I don’t know why, maybe ’cause the World Cup was on or something, I just thought, wouldn’t it be funny to make this thing into a Cristiano Ronaldo tribute? Like, theme it out completely. Seemed like a silly, fun way to spend a weekend, better than letting the truck rot away.

Figuring Out the Plan and Getting Stuff

So, the plan wasn’t exactly rocket science. I wanted to:

  • Give it a new paint job. Something related to Ronaldo, maybe Portugal colors or one of his club kits. I settled on the Portugal green and red, felt classic.
  • Get some number 7 decals. Obviously. Maybe his name too.
  • Clean the whole thing up, make sure the remote control bits still worked okay.
  • Maybe add some silly extra touches if I felt like it later.

Getting the supplies was easy enough. Went down to the local hobby shop. Grabbed some model paint – red, green, and a bit of white for accents. Found some number ‘7’ stickers online, the kind people use for mailboxes or whatever, they looked about the right size. Also picked up some masking tape and sandpaper.

The Actual Work: Paint, Stickers, and Some Fiddling

First thing, I took the truck body off the chassis. Just a few screws, pretty simple. Gave the plastic shell a good wash with soap and water to get the grime off, then let it dry properly.

Next up was sanding. Just roughed up the surface a little bit so the paint would stick better. Wiped it down again to get rid of the dust. Then came the masking. Taping off the windows and lights was fiddly work, gotta say. My fingers aren’t as nimble as they used to be. Taped off sections for the green and red paint job I had in my head.

Painting took the longest. Did a couple of thin coats of green first. Had to wait for each coat to dry, which is always the boring part. Then masked off the green parts and did the red. Used a bit of white for some stripes. It wasn’t a perfect professional job, mind you, looked a bit rough up close, but from a distance? Not bad! It had the vibe I wanted.

While the paint was drying hard, I checked the chassis and the remote. Put new batteries in. Thankfully, the thing still worked! Steered left, right, went forwards and backwards. Good enough for me.

Once the paint was totally dry, peel off the masking tape – always satisfying, that bit. Then stuck on the number ‘7’ decals on the doors and the hood. Added a smaller ‘Ronaldo’ sticker I managed to find on the back. Stood back and looked at it. Yeah, definitely looked like a Ronaldo truck now, haha.

Putting It Back Together and the Final Look

Putting the shell back on the chassis was quick. Lined it up, put the screws back in. Done.

So there it was. My “ronaldo truck”. A bright green and red RC truck with number 7s all over it. It’s goofy, it’s pointless, but honestly, it was fun to make. Just tinkering around, making something with my hands. Didn’t cost much, used up an old toy, and kept me busy for a couple of afternoons. Tested it out in the driveway, still runs fine. Looks pretty cool zipping around, if I do say so myself. A silly little tribute, but it makes me chuckle.
