Okay, so let’s talk about this Hayden Springer guy on the PGA Tour. I recently got into tracking professional golf, and this dude’s name kept popping up, so I decided to dig a little deeper.
First off, I found out that this Springer guy isn’t some overnight sensation. He actually started his college golf career at Texas Tech. It’s crazy, but I read that he met his wife, Emma, there on his first day. She was a golfer on the women’s team. Talk about a meet-cute, right?
Then I started looking into the whole PGA thing. Apparently, the Professional Golfers’ Association of America was started way back in 1916. It was some businessman from Philly named Rodman Wanamaker. The whole point of the organization was to promote professional golf and just make it a bigger deal, which is pretty cool.

I wanted to see how Springer was doing on the tour. There’s this website that has all the stats and a profile for him. Turns out, he hasn’t won any tournaments yet on the PGA Tour, and his top 10 finishes are zero for this year. His Official World Golf Ranking is 181st.

Next, I wanted to know about the gear he uses. This guy plays with a Titleist bag, it seems. I’m not a huge gearhead, but it’s interesting to see what the pros use.
I also tried to find out what the deal was with LIV Golf. It seems like those guys are eligible for the PGA Championship now. And any American who qualifies for the Ryder Cup on points or gets picked by the captain can compete. Sounds complicated.
Finally, just for fun, I looked up who has the most holes in one on the PGA Tour. It’s a tie between Robert Allenby and Hal Sutton, both with 10. Phil Mickelson has five, which is still pretty nuts if you ask me.
So, yeah, that’s my little deep dive on Hayden Springer and the PGA Tour. I still have a ton to learn about professional golf, but following this guy’s journey seems like a good way to do it.
