Okay, so let me tell you about this thing I messed around with the other day, “greg jennings madden.” I was messing around on YouTube, and you know how it is, you start with one video and then you’re down a rabbit hole. Well, I stumbled on this old clip from way back in 2010, I think it was something like “broken-leg Greg Jennings.” It was all about this football player, Greg Jennings, and it was so funny, I was totally hooked. I had to learn everything about this guy.
After that, I started digging around. I found out Greg Jennings was a wide receiver in the NFL, and this video was some kind of viral thing. But it was also mixed up with this game, Madden. Apparently, there’s a part in the Madden 12 game where you can do something that’s a shoutout to Greg Jennings. I read that to get this “honor,” you just need to catch something in the game, but it’s a direct reference to this guy’s talents. I was like this is such a good story that I need to experience myself
So, I booted up my old gaming console. I haven’t played Madden in ages, but I figured, why not? I loaded up Madden 12 and started playing. I was trying to figure out how to do this Greg Jennings thing.
- I played a few games, just trying to get the hang of it again. It was rough, I was getting destroyed, man.
- Then I started focusing on catching, trying to see if anything special would happen.

It wasn’t a huge deal, but it was fun to connect this old viral video with an actual thing in the game. It felt like I was in on some inside joke. It makes me feel like I just solved a little mystery or something. It’s wild how one random YouTube video can lead you down this whole path. I mean, who would have thought I’d be playing Madden 12 again in this day and age, all because of some old clip about a football player with a broken leg? Crazy stuff, right?
I spent the rest of the evening just messing around in the game, feeling all nostalgic. This is why I love the internet, man. You can find the most random, interesting stuff, and it can take you on these little adventures. I shared this whole story with my buddies online, and they got a kick out of it too. It’s just a fun little reminder that there’s always something new to discover, even in old things.
