So, I’ve been digging into this Indian FTR 1200 bike lately, and man, it’s a beast! I wanted to know everything about it, like, what makes this thing tick, you know?

First off, I started hunting around for the basics. Turns out, this bad boy’s got a 1203cc V-twin engine. That’s a whole lotta power packed in there! And get this, it’s pushing out around 123 horsepower. I mean, that’s insane for a bike that’s not even meant for the track!
- Engine: Four stroke, 60 degree V Twin, DOHC, 1203 cc
- Horsepower: 123 hp (92 kW)
- Weight: Around 221 kg (that’s like, 487 pounds for us Yanks)
Then I started looking at the different models. There’s the regular FTR 1200, which is already pretty sweet, with its analog gauges and all. But then there’s this “Championship Edition” that came out in 2022. It’s got a fancy digital touchscreen display. I guess that’s for the folks who like their bikes high-tech.
I also found out that they changed the tires from the originals for this special edition model. Seems like they were listening to the riders, they switched to these Dunlop DT3-R tires. Apparently, they were designed just for the FTR. And for the FTR Rally, they went with some knobby Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires. And the Rally also has some other cool stuff like a wind deflector and a taller seat, which are for those who love to hit the trails.
They even have a Carbon version, which I assume is lighter because, well, carbon fiber. But all of them share that same monster engine and from what I gather, they’re all built for the street. Though I bet some folks take ’em off-road anyway.
So, after all this digging, I’m pretty much sold on the FTR 1200. It’s got the power, the looks, and from what I can tell, a pretty solid build. Now, if only I could convince the wife to let me get one…

Wrap-up:
If you’re into bikes that are a mix of old-school cool and new-school tech, the Indian FTR 1200 might just be your jam. Just be ready to handle all that power!
