First Time? Your Perfect 2 Weeks in England Itinerary.

Okay, so I just got back from a two-week trip to England, and let me tell you, it was a whirlwind! I’ve always wanted to go, so I finally bit the bullet and booked the flights. I started planning like crazy a few months before, you know, making lists, checking things off, getting all excited.

First things first, I booked the flights and found a cute little Airbnb in London for the first week. I figured I’d start there and then branch out. I’m not a huge fan of super-structured itineraries, so I only had a few “must-dos” on my list, like seeing Buckingham Palace and visiting the British Museum.

Week 1: London Calling!

The first week was all about getting my bearings in London. I walked everywhere. Seriously, my feet were killing me by the end of each day, but it was the best way to see the city. I stumbled upon so many cool little shops and cafes that I never would have found otherwise.

  • Day 1: Landed, checked into the Airbnb, and immediately went out for fish and chips. Classic, right?
  • Day 2: Buckingham Palace (didn’t see the Queen, sadly), St. James’s Park, and a wander through Westminster Abbey.
  • Day 3: British Museum – spent hours in there! Could have easily spent days, to be honest.
  • Day 4: Took a ride on the London Eye. Touristy, yes, but the views were amazing.
  • Day 5: Explored Shoreditch – loved the street art and the quirky vibe.
  • Day 6: Saw a show in the West End – “Wicked.” It was fantastic!
  • Day 7: Day trip to Windsor Castle. So much history!

I also tried to use the Tube (the subway) as much as possible. Figuring out the different lines was a bit of a challenge at first, but I eventually got the hang of it. Felt like a real Londoner, haha!

Week 2: Beyond London

For the second week, I rented a car and drove up to the Cotswolds. It was a bit nerve-wracking driving on the “wrong” side of the road at first, but I managed. The countryside was absolutely beautiful – rolling hills, sheep everywhere, and those charming little villages with stone houses. I will say it rained on me so much.

I stayed in a couple of different bed and breakfasts in the Cotswolds, which was a great way to meet some locals. They gave me tons of tips on where to go and what to see.

I hiked a bit, visited some cute little towns like Bourton-on-the-Water and Bibury, and just generally enjoyed the peace and quiet. It was a nice contrast to the hustle and bustle of London.

I visited Bath and explored the Roman Baths and just soaked in the beauty of the city.

The whole trip was such an amazing experience. I learned so much, saw so many incredible things, and met some really interesting people. It definitely won’t be my last trip to England!
