Okay, so I wanted to get some really good pictures of Kauffman Stadium, you know, for the ‘gram and maybe to print a few for the man cave. I’ve always loved the look of the place, especially those fountains. So, I started planning my little photo adventure.

Getting Started
First things first, I checked the Royals’ schedule. No point in going when there’s no game or event, right? I wanted the stadium to be buzzing, but I also wanted to be able to wander around without massive crowds.
I found a day game that looked perfect – good weather forecasted, and it wasn’t a weekend, so hopefully, fewer people. Then, I spent some time just browsing online, looking at other people’s pictures of the stadium. Gotta get some inspiration, see what angles work, you know?
Gear and Prep
I’m no pro photographer, but I do have a decent DSLR camera and a couple of lenses. I made sure my batteries were charged, and my memory cards were empty. Nothing worse than running out of space mid-shoot! I also packed a small bag with a water bottle and a snack – stadium food is pricey!
At the Stadium
I arrived early, like a couple of hours before the game. This gave me plenty of time to walk around the outside of the stadium. I snapped some shots of the exterior, trying to capture the whole scale of the place. I played around with different angles, trying to get the fountains in the background.
- Walked along the perimeter of the stadium.
- Focused on exterior with fountains.
Once the gates opened, I headed inside. I made my way down to the lower levels, closer to the field. I wanted to get some shots of the field itself, the pristine grass, the perfectly lined basepaths… you get the idea. The fountains were even more impressive up close! I took a ton of pictures of them, experimenting with different shutter speeds to see if I could get that cool, silky water effect.

The Results
Honestly, I took way too many pictures. But hey, that’s the beauty of digital, right? I spent a good chunk of the evening after the game going through them all, deleting the blurry ones and picking out my favorites. I ended up with a handful that I was really happy with.
- Deleted unusable photos.
- Chose best image.
I did some minor editing – you know, adjusting the brightness and contrast a bit – and boom! I had some awesome pictures of Kauffman Stadium. Definitely going to get a few of these printed!
It was a fun day, and I learned a little more about my camera, the best place in the stadium, and photography in general. Might have to make this a regular thing!
