Today I wanted to play some old games, so I started up “Final Fantasy Crisis Core” again. I got really into it, and then I remembered there’s this special summon called “Cactuar” that I never got around to unlocking back in the day. So, I figured, why not try to get it now?

First, I needed to get to Chapter 4 in the story. Once I was there, I started playing through these missions in the “M3” category, specifically “M3-1-1”. I kept going until I reached “M3-1-3”. The guides online said that’s where a special enemy called “Kactuar” would show up.
So I’m running around in the “M3-1-3” mission, fighting some other enemies, and then, I spotted this weird-looking enemy. It was the “Kactuar”! I made sure to defeat it. It wasn’t too tough, just had to be quick. After beating the “Kactuar”, I finished up the rest of the “M3-1-3” mission.
Then what?
Next, the guides said I had to tackle some more missions, this time in the “M10” category. I found “M10-1-1” called “Where’s the Cactuar?”, played through it, and then moved on to “M10-1-2” and “M10-1-3”. It was a bit of a grind, but not too bad.

Successfully Unlocking Cactuar
After finishing “M10-1-3”, I finally got this item called “Cactus Thorn.” And guess what? That’s the key to getting the “Cactuar” summon! It automatically added “Cactuar” to my DMW, which is the system you use for special attacks and summons in the game. I was pretty pumped when I saw “Cactuar” show up in my DMW options.

I know a lot of people say that Minerva is the hardest boss in “Crisis Core”, but for me, figuring out how to unlock “Cactuar” felt just as challenging, maybe because I’m not the best at following guides. Anyway, I’m really happy I finally managed to do it. Now I can use this cool “Cactuar” summon in my battles. It’s a great feeling to finally check this off my list after all these years!
And that’s how I did it. Just some patience, a bit of fighting, and following those online guides. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go enjoy some more “Final Fantasy Crisis Core” with my newly unlocked Cactuar!
