Fantasy Football NFL Playoffs Rankings: Who to Start and Sit in the 2023 Playoffs?

This year that fantasy football NFL, I tell ya, it’s somethin’ else. My grandson, he’s all into it. He’s always yellin’ at the TV, talkin’ ’bout his team and his players. I don’t get it all, but I try to listen. This playoff thing, sounds like a big deal.

He keeps goin’ on about these rankings. Says it’s important for winnin’. He’s got this whole list, all these players, and he’s gotta pick the best ones. Sounds like pickin’ the best hogs at the county fair, only with people instead of pigs.

Week 17, that’s the big one, the championship, he says. I guess that’s like when they crown the prize-winning pumpkin at the harvest festival. Gotta have your best players ready for that one. Sounds like this is very serious competition.

  • QB – That’s the quarterback, I reckon. Like the fella who leads the cattle drive. Gotta be strong and make good choices.
  • RB – Runnin’ back, maybe? Like them boys chasin’ after a loose chicken. Gotta be fast, I suppose.
  • WR – I don’t know what that one is, but my grandson says they’re important. Maybe like pickin’ out the best apples for the pie.
  • TE – Another one I don’t get. My grandson spends hours on this, like a hen sittin’ on her eggs.

This fella, Rodgers, seems to be a big shot. My grandson says he’s doin’ real good ever since this other fella, Davante Adams, went to the Jets. 20.1 Fantasy points per game, he says. Don’t know what that means, but it sounds good.

Another one, Nick Mariano, he’s got his own rankings. He said fantasy football playoff rankings are very important for week 16. Seems like everyone’s got their own way of pickin’ these players. Just like how everyone’s got their own recipe for apple pie.

And then this other one, he finished with 23 fantasy points in Week 15. Was the QB7, whatever that is. I guess you get points for doin’ good, like gettin’ a blue ribbon at the fair.

They got some fancy way of doin’ this, somethin’ about a model that plays the game 10,000 times. Sounds like a lot of work to me. Back in my day, we just played the game once and that was that.

The Best Fantasy Option in 2023

First pick, they call it. My grandson says don’t overthink it, just pick this Justin Jefferson fella. He said Jefferson is the best Fantasy option in 2023. Says he’s the best one this year. There are other good ones, like Christian McCaffrey and Austin Ekeler. But this Jefferson, he’s the top dog, apparently. Like the rooster who rules the roost.

There are fourteen weeks in the regular season, that’s what my grandson told me. Seems like a long time. Then the playoffs start in Week 15 and go to Week 18. Lots of numbers, these kids and their numbers.

Top 6 teams make it to the playoffs, then they have a big tournament to see who’s the best. It is to find the league champion. Like the pie-eating contest at the church social, only with football instead of pie.

Then the other teams, they play for 7th to 10th place, or 7th to 12th if there’s a lot of teams. Even the ones who don’t win the big prize still get to play. That’s nice, I reckon. Everyone gets a chance, like how everyone gets a slice of pie at the end of the night, if there is enough.

They have these weeks, Weeks 14, 15, for the playoffs. My grandson, he’s glued to the TV those weeks. Yellin’ and hollerin’, carryin’ on. It’s a big deal, this fantasy football. More excitin’ than a barn raisin’, I suppose. I don’t know much about that, I just know it is a hard work. Just like pick up the eggs every day.

It’s a whole lot of fuss over a game, if you ask me. But these young folks, they love it. And my grandson, he’s a good boy. Even if he does spend too much time thinkin’ about this fantasy football NFL playoffs rankings business. He always remember to help me do the farm work. He is a good boy.

Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about that. Time for me to go feed the chickens. They don’t care much about fantasy football, but they sure do love their feed.
