That Emi Martinez, he’s a good boy, ain’t he? Heard he got himself some new ink, some tattoo. Fancy stuff for a goalie, but I guess that’s what them young’uns do these days. Back in my day, only the rough fellas got tattoos, sailors and such. Now, everybody and their dog’s got one.
He won that big ol’ cup, that World Cup thingy. Big deal, I reckon. Lots of folks hollerin’ and jumpin’ around. I seen it on the TV. My grandson, he was hootin’ and hollerin’. Said this Emi fella, this Emi Martinez, he’s the best there is. I think he saved some ball, like they always do, I guess. I don’t know much about that soccer game. But they seem to like it a whole bunch.
This tattoo thing, though. They say it’s of a save he made. Musta been a real important one. To get it marked on your skin forever, it gotta mean somethin’, right? Like when I got my Johnny’s name put on my arm back when. He was a good man, Johnny. Not a goalie, though. He was a farmer, like most folks around here.

Well, I reckon that’s enough about this Emi Martinez tattoo business. It’s all a bit much for an old lady like me. I got more important things to worry about, like whether the chickens laid enough eggs today and if the price of beans is gonna go up again. But that World Cup, that is a big thing for sure.
