Alright, so, I was digging around for some info on the Los Angeles Dodgers today. I wanted to know who their current Mexican players are. You know, it’s always interesting to see the international presence in Major League Baseball.

I started by browsing a bunch of different sports websites, trying to find a solid list. Some sites had some names, others had completely different ones, It was a bit of a mess, to be honest.
Then I remembered a little tidbit about the Dodgers’ history with Mexican players. Apparently, since around 2012, they’ve been putting more effort into scouting talent in Mexico. I read that they’ve signed about nine Mexican-born players since then. That’s pretty cool!
So, here’s what I found out about their current roster:
- Julio Urias is a big name that popped up. He’s a pitcher, and from what I gather, he’s a pretty big deal.
- Eric Meza from Guadalajara, Jalisco. He’s a first baseman.
- I learned that the Dodgers have won eight World Series titles and 25 National League pennants. Wow, that’s some serious history! They were originally based in Brooklyn, New York, and were known as the Atlantics. They were founded in 1883.
- I also found out about Walter Alston, a legendary Dodgers manager. He led the team to six National League pennants and three World Series titles in the 1950s and 60s. The guy had over 2,000 victories!
So, yeah, that was my little research adventure for the day. It wasn’t the easiest task, piecing together information from different places, but it was definitely interesting. It’s always cool to learn more about the history and the international flavor of a team like the Dodgers.
