So, I had this old jacket, right? The one I’ve had for like, ever. It fit okay, but the sleeves were always a bit too long, and the waist was kinda… blah. I finally decided to get it altered. After searching around,I Picked “jackie’s alterations forest drive”.I wasn’t sure what to expect.
First thing I did was call them up. A lady answered, super friendly, and we chatted about what I wanted. I explained the whole sleeve and waist situation. She said, “No problem, honey, bring it on in!” So I did.
I drove over there – it’s a little shop, not hard to find, plenty of parking. When I walked in, it smelled like, you know, fabric and sewing machines. A comforting smell, actually.
The Fitting
Jackie herself came out, and she was just as nice as she sounded on the phone. We went to the fitting area. It was a small room with a big mirror. I put on the jacket, and she immediately started pinning. She’s got those pins everywhere, like a little porcupine, but she’s fast!
She asked me how much I wanted the sleeves shortened, and we figured out the perfect length. Then she worked on the waist. She pinned it in, and I could instantly see the difference. It looked so much better, more fitted, less boxy.
The Wait
She told me it would take about a week. I was okay with that. I paid a deposit . Honestly, the price was pretty reasonable, especially considering how much I loved that jacket.
The Pickup
A week later, I got a call – it was ready! I went back, excited to see the finished product. I tried it on, and… wow. Seriously, wow. It fit perfectly. The sleeves were exactly the right length, and the waist was tailored just right. It looked like a brand new jacket, but better, because it was my jacket.
I paid my rest of balance.
