Okay, so I had this massive task staring me in the face last weekend. My computer’s photo folder was just… a disaster. Years of pictures dumped in one place. Needed to sort it out.
I decided to tackle it bit by bit. First, I thought, let’s just make two big folders to start breaking things down. Don’t ask me why, but I just randomly named them. One was ronaldo, the other was neymar. Seemed like a quick, distinct way to label them at the moment, you know? Just temporary.
So I started dragging stuff. Put all the holiday snaps into ronaldo. Then started moving the family event photos into neymar. Seemed logical enough at first.
Getting Mixed Up
After about an hour, I took a break. Came back, and wanted to find those pictures from that beach trip. Was that in ronaldo or neymar? Crap. I couldn’t remember my own system. It was just arbitrary names.
- Opened ronaldo. Nope, not there. Just skiing trips and city breaks.
- Opened neymar. Ah, there they were. Mixed with birthdays and weddings.
It was just dumb. The names meant nothing related to the content. Wasted a good ten minutes just figuring out where I’d put things because of those silly names.
The Fix
Realized this wasn’t working. Highlighted the ronaldo folder. Renamed it. Called it ‘Holidays_Abroad’. Much clearer. Did the same for neymar. Renamed it ‘Family_Events_UK’.

Took like 30 seconds to rename them. Suddenly, everything made sense again. Finished sorting the rest of the photos much quicker after that. Sometimes you try to be clever or quick with temporary names, and it just bites you back later. Lesson learned, I guess. Just name things properly from the start.
