Okay, so you got the bounty. Now, the real fun begins. Each week, the Ascendant Challenge rotates, which means the location of the portal changes. You HAVE to know where the portal is for that week’s challenge. Check YouTube, Reddit, whatever, but figure it out. I usually hit up YouTube, someone always has a quick video showing the exact spot.
Once you know the portal location, pop a Tincture of Queensfoil. This is KEY. You CANNOT see the portal without it. Drink that sucker, and the Ascendant Plane will shimmer into view, and the portal should be visible.
Now, jump in the portal! You’re in the Ascendant Plane. Each challenge is different, some are platforming nightmares, others are combat gauntlets. Just follow the objective, usually “complete the challenge.” Don’t be afraid to die. A LOT. I sure did. Learn the layout, the enemy spawns, and the tricky jumps.
Here’s the thing about the chest: it’s not ALWAYS in the exact same spot EVERY time. Sometimes it’s right at the end of the challenge, in plain sight. Other times, it’s HIDDEN. You gotta explore a little. Look behind rocks, up on ledges, in corners. Use your ghost to scan for resources, sometimes that helps pinpoint it. I spent a solid hour one week looking for one that was tucked behind a rock formation. Drove me nuts.
Important Tip: Make sure you have space in your inventory! If your engram slots are full, the chest rewards might get sent to the Postmaster…or disappear entirely! I learned that the hard way. Lost a sweet piece of gear once. Never again.
Once you find the chest, open that bad boy up! Usually get some decent legendary gear, maybe a Dreaming City weapon or armor piece. Plus, progress on that bounty! Gotta turn that in to Petra for even more rewards. It’s a whole cycle.
