Need the Local Time in Baku? Get the Accurate Time & Date Instantly!

Okay, so I was messing around with time zones the other day, specifically trying to figure out the local time in Baku, Azerbaijan. It’s something I needed for a personal project, and I thought I’d share how I went about it, ’cause why not?

Need the Local Time in Baku? Get the Accurate Time & Date Instantly!

First, I googled “Baku time zone”. You know, the usual. I just wanted a quick answer, nothing fancy.

The search results popped up, and I saw that Baku is in the Azerbaijan Time (AZT) zone, which is UTC+4. Easy enough, right? That means they’re four hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time.

My Process

  • Checked my computer’s clock: It’s set to my local time, Pacific Standard Time (PST), which is UTC-8 during standard time.
  • Did some mental math: Okay, so the difference between Baku (UTC+4) and my time (UTC-8) is 12 hours.
  • I wanted to confirm that and make not mistakes with my counting, I decided to use the method of adding and subtracting. So I add +4 hours for Baku, and -8 for me, as a result I got the same 12 hours.
  • Calculated the time:I added, and if it was, say, 10:00 AM PST, it would be 10:00 PM in Baku (10:00 AM + 12 hours = 10:00 PM).

I double-checked my calculation, just wanted to make *, I confirmed my * right, and I felt good that it was, and I finish my project, that’s all!

So yeah, that’s how I figured out the local time in Baku. Nothing groundbreaking, but it got the job done!
