Okay, so I wanted to mess around with some football data, and I got this idea to look back at Leicester City’s 2016 squad – you know, the year they shocked everyone and won the Premier League. It’s a fun, historical data exercise!
Getting Started
First, I needed to, you know, actually get the squad list. Initially I thought, “I’ll just google it.” And, I did, I just simply typed “leicester city 2016 squad”.
Compiling the List
Then, I started putting the information together. The players were easy to find, so I went and did this:
- Goalkeepers: I grabbed the names of all the keepers.
- Defenders: Same thing, just listed out all the defenders from that season.
- Midfielders: You get the idea – all the midfielders went onto my list.
- Forwards: And finally, the guys up front, the strikers, the goal-scorers.
It wasn’t anything super complicated, just basic list-making. I created a basic text, and started to put the name there one by one.
Checking and Double-Checking
After making my initial list, I went back and checked a couple of different sources. Just to be sure, you know? It’s easy to make a mistake and miss a player or something. No fancy tools here, just good old-fashioned comparing my list against other lists I found.
Final Thoughts
Really, the whole thing was pretty straightforward. It’s more about being careful and taking the time to get it right than anything else. It’s the kind of thing anyone could do with a bit of patience. I’m not using crazy databases or programs, I simply compile the player names from different sources.
