You know what? I hear these young folks talking ’bout this Wario meme thing all the time. What the hell is that, anyway? Sounds like some kinda newfangled nonsense to me. But my grandson, he’s always on that dang computer, he showed me some. They’re just pictures, you know? Pictures of that fella, Wario. He’s a funny-looking one, ain’t he?
This Wario, he’s like Mario, but kinda… wrong. You see that guy, Mario, all the time jumpin’ around, and he is always nice. But this Wario, he’s all chunky and mean. He’s got that pointy mustache and that angry look in his eye. Reminds me of old Mr. Johnson down the street, always yelling at the kids to get off his lawn. I guess he is some bad egg, maybe. Not a good one like Mario, for sure.
My grandson, he told me this Wario first showed up in some game. One of them video games, you know? Back in, when was it… ’92, he said. Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. Fancy name, ain’t it? Sounds important. He’s been around for a while, I reckon, this Wario. Longer than some of these kids making these Wario memes, that’s for sure! And this Wario guy, he just loves to, you know…fart! Kids think it is so funny. Oh my gosh.
And these memes, they’re everywhere. On the computer, on the phone. Everywhere you look, there’s Wario. Some of them Wario memes are just pictures of him. Some of them, they got words on them. Like those funny saying things. Some of them are like these short little videos, these days they called GIF. Moving pictures, they are. Makes my head spin, all this new stuff.

I saw one, it was Wario, and he was, like, dancing. But it was a silly dance. Not like a waltz or anything. More like he was just shaking around. It look so weird. They put some music to it, too. Loud music. Not the kind I like, you know? But the kids, they love it. They think it’s the funniest thing they ever saw. This is one popular Wario meme, I guess.
And then there’s this other one, where’s he’s just yelling. Just a picture of him with his mouth wide open. It is just like how he is in the games. And they put words on it, like he’s saying something. Usually something grumpy. ‘Cause he’s always grumpy, this Wario. Like I said, just like old Mr. Johnson. Always yelling. Always grumpy.
They even got a place, a whole place on the computer, just for these Wario memes. Can you believe that, just for Wario? I don’t know what it is called, but there are many there. And they vote on them! Like it’s some kind of contest. Which Wario meme is the best, I guess. These kids today, they got too much time on their hands. They use a meme generator, make their own, I hear. Use computer to make it.
I don’t really get it, you know? Why they think this Wario fella is so funny. He’s just a mean, fat, little guy. But hey, who am I to judge? I used to think those hula hoops were the bee’s knees. And now look at me. I can barely get out of my chair without my back acting up.
So this Wario guy, maybe he is funny. Maybe the Wario meme is good. I don’t know. But if you see a Wario meme, just remember, he’s a bad egg, and he farts a lot! That’s all I know about him, really. He is the opposite of Mario and he is everywhere on the internet. That’s what the kids are all excited about these days. They even say he will be in some movie. What a world, what a world.
